EHOAW hosted the Geneva Call Awareness Program in Kabul

A two-day awareness program organized by Geneva Call was recently held at the Educational and Health Organization for Afghanistan Women (EHOAW) in Kabul. Ms. Ruqia Gharjestani, representing Geneva Call, delivered eighteen crucial messages aimed at safeguarding civilian lives, protecting assets, and preserving public facilities during armed conflicts. The program took place on April 29 and 30, 2024, at the EHOAW office in Kabul.

Geneva Call is dedicated to providing effective awareness programs for the protection of both civilian and military personnel in Afghanistan. Since its establishment in 2000 in Geneva, Switzerland, the organization has been working to guide civilians on self-defense strategies during conflict. In 2017, Geneva Call expanded its operations to Afghanistan and operates in Kabul, Bamyan, Balkh, and Kunduz provinces.

The two-day training program was attended by 30 women representing fifteen civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations. Through initiatives like these, the Geneva Call continues to empower Afghan citizens with the knowledge and tools necessary to protect themselves and their communities during challenging times.
